"Stuff is not passive. Stuff wants your time, attention, allegiance. But you know it as well as I do, life is more important than the things we accumulate."
Dave Bruno has been working on a project similar to The Fashion Fast: He is narrowing the number of all of his personal possessions to a simple, rounded 100. Then, come November 2008, he will live off of only these 100 items for one full year.
Think about it: Could you limit your entire expanse of possessions to just 100? Remember, you would have to include things like your toothbrush, razors, suitcases, clothes, shoes, and a lot more in between. Going a year without shopping is going to be a challenge enough for me, as I don't think I could literally minimize my life that much in the near future. After all, I am pretty sure I have over 100 items in just my shirt and blouse wardrobe alone.
