Since I am not purchasing new items, it seems to only make sense that I 'recognize' pieces in my wardrobe that consistently make me feel good about who I am, where I came from, and my evolving sense of style. This week, it's my watch.
Once belonging to my Great-Grandma Boyer, this watch was repaired, polished, and given to me by my mother as high school graduation gift. It is a vintage Hamilton watch, circa 1940, with a small 10k white gold face and stretch band, 4 small diamonds, and leaf detail. It is my most significant peice of jewelry (besides my wedding rings) and it reminds me of my past and my Grandmother's incredible style every time it touches my wrist.
We all have pieces we adore, and most of the time there are stories behind them. What's yours?
